This is our Annual General Meeting where election & installation of Executive & Board members takes place by and is followed by Matthew’s presentation.
Matthew Schmidt joined Omemee Blooms in 2021 & has been helping with some of the larger projects since then. He resided in Omemee for 6 years & now lives in Douro with his wife & 3 children. Matthew has a degree & diploma in Ecological Restoration from Trent & Fleming respectively. In addition, he is an International Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist & has been in the industry for almost 15 years. He is the owner of Apical Tree; a Tree, Lawn, & Gardening business. Matthew considers himself to be a lifelong student & loves to learn new things and pass on what he has learned to others.
Matthew will touch on basic tree biology, basic leaf anatomy & identification, & will use the knowledge from both to do a practical demonstration on how & when to prune trees & shrubs.
Anyone wishing to be a participant of the practical pruning demonstration is encouraged to bring their own pair of sharp secateurs.
